Will Young has been skinny dipping "quite a few times."

The 37-year-old singer has admitted he often drops his drawers and runs into the sea with his bare bottom on display after knocking back the booze.

Speaking in a YouTube video posted to his official account on Wednesday, he said: "I have skinny dipped. I've skinny dipped quite a few times.

"I skinny dipped in Portugal, and then I ended up sleeping - because I was so drunk - I ended up sleeping underneath the dining room table of the house that I skinny dipped in.

"I woke up put my clothes on - I was skinnier then - and didn't know where I was, because I was under a dining room table. It was an amazing holiday."

Meanwhile, the 'Evergreen' hitmaker is keen to expand his theatre career after he earned an Olivier nomination for his role in 'Cabaret' three years ago and, although he's regularly attending auditions, he's not nabbing the parts.

He said: "There's one musical that I really want to do, and then there's another kind of music play that's an adaptation that's taken a long time to get it done. And then straight plays, there's a couple. That's basically a way of saying I go for auditions and don't get them."

However, for now, Will is busy focusing on his new EP 'Summer Covers', which has been muted for an August release, and can't wait to share it with the world.

He said: "My new EP will be available soon. I don't know the exact date as we're still printing the art work. I'm saying that, but to be honest I don't really know."
