Day 2 of FDCI India Couture Week 2016 began with Anita Dongre’s collection which was strong on prints in pastel shades. Men wearing nose rings with kohl-filled eyes and pink eye shadow stood out among the female catwalkers. Lehengas with pockets, tops and dupattas with tassels were part of the collection that clearly was influenced by Rajasthani folk culture. Bohemian gypsy tops were paired with printed lehengas and silk pants.
The collection was divided into sections, one that was about prints and subtle shades and the other with vibrant colours like fuschia, red and pink with gota patti work.

Tarun Tahiliani’s collection, The Last Dance Of The Courtesans, was a bridal wear range with an interesting twist – anarkalis presented as jumpsuits, corsetted kurta drapes, shararas with gota work and saris with crystal encrusted details, brocade lehengas paired with printed shirts and tops, bodysuits and skirts were part of the line. Manjari Chaturvedi’s Kathak moves strung the whole show together.
