New figures from the Central Statistics Office show that monthly wholesale prices - or factory gate prices - rose by 0.6% in June.
Factory gate prices fell by 1.3% on an annual basis, today's figures show.
The CSO said that the biggest changes in the month included an increase in other food products, including bread and confectionery, which rose by 0.7%, and computer, electronic and optical products, which rose 0.6%.
The CSO said that the price of dairy products slumped by 0.6% last month.
Contributing to the annual change were increases in fish and fish products (+8.7%), other manufacturing including medical and dental instruments and supplies (+7.8%) and other food products including bread and confectionery (+0.7%), while there were decreases in dairy products (-8.3%), basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (-2.2%) and computer, electronic and optical products (-1.6%).
The CSO also noted building and construction materials prices increased by 0.7% in the year since June 2015.
The most notable yearly changes were increases in sand and gravel (+15.5%), stone (+7.1%) and fabricated metal (+7.1%), while there were decreases in other timber excluding windows and doors (-9.0%), copper pipes and fittings (-6.0%) and glass (-4.1%).
The price of energy products decreased by 14.1% in the year to June, while petrol and diesel fuel prices decreased by 7.9%.
