To celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's 90th birthday, the Royal Collection Trust has staged three separate exhibitions across the three official royal residences during 2016. 'Fashioning a Reign: 90 Years of Style from The Queen's Wardrobe', running from 23 July until 2 October 2016, will see 150 outfits exhibited at Holyrood Palace, Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle – each displaying a range of clothing and accessories worn by the monarch from childhood up to the present day.
All three exhibitions present a selection of outfits chosen in relation to their close association with the location.

Opening to the public on Saturday (23 July), Buckingham Palace in London is to be the second location to open in the series of exhibits and will coincide with the palace's Summer Opening.
The exhibit charts the significant events in the Queen's life and the nation's history, from the wedding dress worn in 1947, to the pink lace dress worn for a short Olympic Games film with Daniel Craig in 2012, which was aired during the event's opening ceremony.
The Queen's support of British couture and millinery is seen through all three exhibits, with pieces by renowned designers, including Ian Thomas, Sir Norman Hartnell and Sir Hardy Amies. The exhibition at Windsor Castle will open on 17 September, and Edinburgh's Palace of Holyroodhouse is open to the public.
