No prayers in historic Jamia masjid in J&K for 2nd consecutive Friday

Srinagar, Jul 22 (UNI) No Friday prayers could be offered in historic Jamia Masjid in the Shehar-e-Khas for the second consecutive week today due to strict curfew restrictions.
However, Friday prayers were offered peacefully in the valley, barring in mosques on main roads though devotees later joined protest marches in their areas, raising pro freedom slogans.
All roads leading to Jamia Masjid, where chairman of moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq is addressing congregation every Friday, remained closed with barbed wire. However, Mirwaiz remained under house arrest since July 9.
