Teen boy gang-raped in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province

A stranger approached the victim on the pretext of offering him a new job, and led him to bakery where he was gangraped by several men.

Islamabad: A 15-year-old boy was gang-raped inside a bakery in Peshawar city of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The incident took place on Monday night near Ghanta Ghar within the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station in Peshawar, reports the Express Tribune.

The victim told the Kotwali police that he was working as an assistant with a wagon.

On Monday night, he was waiting on GT Road for the vehicle, when a man approached him and told him he was employed at a bakery and they needed another boy to help out.

The man gave the victim Rs 1,000 as advance payment and took him to the bakery situated in Ghanta Ghar area.

The victim said there were several other adults present in the bakery who gang-raped him.

The Kotwali police registered an FIR and investigation has been initiated. One of the accused on raiding the bakery has been arrested.

Meanwhile, child rights activist Imran Takkar said sections 53 and 54 of K-P Child Protection and Welfare Act, 2010 should be incorporated in the FIR.

He said that prevention mechanism was needed under K-P Child Protection and Welfare Act, 2010 and there was a dire need to create awareness among people about such incidents.
