2. The state of Chattisgarh is divided into twenty seven in the
name of Dantewada (South Bastar), Dhamtari, Janjgir-
Champa, Bastar, Jashpur, Kanker (North Bastar), Durg,
Bilaspur, Kawardha, Korba, Koriya, Raipur, Mahasamund,
Surguja, Raigarh and Rajnandgaon.
3. Currently the state comprises 27 districts. The literal meaning of
the word Chhattisgarh 'Thirty-Six Forts' is a state in Central India. It
is the 10th largest state in India, with an area of 135,190 km2
(52,200 sq mi).
4. With a population of 25.5 million, the state is the 16th most-
populated state of the nation. It has the treasures of natural
resources and mineral ores.

8. The tourism board has plans to increase the manpower training
and employment generation. This will lead to the creation of an
efficient team for travel trade and hospitality industry of this state.
9. The land area consists of 45% of the forests and 32% of tribal

opportunities for Eco-Ethno, Adventure and Cultural tourism.
