National Award-winning actress Shweta Basu Prasad, who is set to make her Kannada debut with Devravne Budu Guru, has a special agenda. While she is in Bengaluru to shoot for her special song and talkie portions, she is also prepping to meet Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today. The actress wants to meet him regarding her documentary on Indian classical music, which features names like Vishal Bhardwaj, AR Rahman, Shubha Mudgal, Imtiaz Ali, Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma and Pt Hari Prasad Chaurasia, among others.She plans to get it dubbed and released across different states to promote Indian classical music and is meeting the Chief Minister as he also holds the portfolio for Information and Broadcasting in Karnataka, says our source.
Shweta pays tribute to Dr Raj
Director Pratham of Devravne Budu Guru informs us that Shweta began her journey in Sandalwood by paying tribute and seeking the blessings of the late matinee idol Dr Rajkumar at his memorial. 'She wanted to visit the place when she heard about his stature and importance in this industry,' says Pratham.
