Book CM for abetting suicide: Lekhi

New Delhi: Delhi BJP MPs in Lok Sabha demanded that a case of abetment to suicide be lodged against state Chief Minister, an AAP MLA and his supporters for driving a woman to kill herself after she was allegedly sexually harassed by the legislator.
Raising the issue, MP and lawyer Meenakshi Lekhi demanded that the Election Commission derecognise AAP.

Joined by her colleagues from the capital, Lekhi alleged that despite Parliament passing the law against sexual harassment at workplace, "there is a political party in which workers hardly do any political work and indulge more in procuring women for their bosses".
Lekhi alleged the deceased met CM Arvind Kejriwal but was asked to settle the issue. Lekhi alleged that the woman had complained of a threat to her life and that of her daughter after receiving messages on her mobile phone from the wife of an MLA. The MP said the woman, an AAP worker herself, had called it a handiwork of three persons working for the MLA while the name of the party's Delhi president also figured.
"She was told that if she wanted to progress in politics, she had to compromise," Lekhi alleged.
The Delhi MP said it was not just about exploitation of a woman but about "creating a structure where women are exploited".
