Madurai: The Madurai bench of the Madras high court on Thursday dismissed a bail petition filed 'Attack' Pandi's, prime accused in the murder of Pottu Suresh, a close associate of former Union minister M K Alagiri.
Justice V M Velumani who reserved her order last week passed an order dismissing his petition after accepting the arguments advanced by the state public prosecutor (SPP) S Shanmuga Velayutham.

The SPP had argued that it was very difficult for the police to arrest him in the murder case. "To trace Pandi, steps were taken to declare him absconding accused and to attach his property. Thereafter, too, police were unable to find his whereabouts. Eventually, police arrested him in Mumbai last year," the SPP submitted.
Moreover, there were 19 cases pending against Pandi. He had threatened a witness namely Ramakrishnan in a murder case.
The same Ramakrishnan is also a witness in the Pottu Suresh murder case, the SPP contended. tnn
