Mapusa: Two Nigerians were arrested by
Anjuna police for overstaying in India and violating the passport-entry India rule.
The anti-narcotics cell (ANC) of the Goa police has complained that Ezeigwe Obinna John, 28, a
Nigerian national was staying in India illegally. Acting on the complaint, the police have arrested the accused. The police said that the accused was presently in the judicial custody under the NDPS Act.
In another case near Bhumika Temple Gaonwadi, Anjuna, Victor Izuchukwe Ubanozie, 32, another Nigerian national was found without authentic travel documents, including passport and visa, thereby contravening the provisions of Foreigners Act. The accused has been arrested.
Anjuna police have booked the offence under sections 3 (2) (A) and 6 (A) of Passport Entry India Rule 1950, Section 3 and 4 of Passport Entry into India Act 1920, Section 7 (i), 3(iii), 3 (2) (a) of Foreigners Order 1948 and Section 14 of Foreigners Act 1946.
