CPL 2016 Stats round-up: Gayle notches 1000 T20 runs in the year, Steyn bags 200th wicket

Previous instances of wicketkeepers from both sides scoring fifty in the same CPL match. The first such instance happened when Kumar Sangakkara scored 50 for Jamaica Tallawahs while Nicholas Pooran scored 51 for Barbados Tridents in the match at Kingston on 20 July 2016.

81 off 39 balls by Nicholas Pooran for Barbados Tridents against St Lucia Zouks at Bridgetown is the second highest for a wicketkeeper in CPL after 84 by Denesh Ramdin for Guyana Amazon Warriors against Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel at Port of Spain in 2014.

87* Partnership between Chris Gayle and Shakib Al Hasan against Guyana Amazon Warriors at Kinsgton the highest sixth-wicket stand ever in CPL. The 57-run stand between Kieron Pollard and Kyle Mayers for Barbados Tridents in 2013 was the previous highest.

97 by Chadwick Walton against Barbados Tridents at Kingston is the third instance of batsman getting dismissed in the nervous nineties in CPL. The previous instances came in 2014 edition when Lendl Simmons and Martin Guptill of Guyana Amazon Warriors got dismissed for 97 and 90 respectively.

100th match of CPL took place between Barbados Tridents and St Kitts & Nevis Patriots at Providence. Barbados Tridents were also involved in the first game of CPL when they played St Lucia Zouks in Bridgetown in 2013.

108-run winning margin of Jamaica Tallawahs against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots at Kingston is the second instance of team winning by 100-plus runs in CPL. Incidentally, the only other instance of 100-plus winning margin was a 119-run win for St Kitts & Nevis Patriots against Jamaica Tallawahs last year.

201 Wickets for Dale Steyn in 20-over cricket. He became the third South African bowler after Alphonso Thomas and Albie Morkel to reach the landmark during the course of his effort of 4 for 27 against Barbados Tridents at Kingston.

1030 Runs scored by Chris Gayle in 20-over cricket in 37 innings in 2016. This is the sixth consecutive year he has crossed the 1000-run mark. The next best for any player is thrice by David Warner (2010, 2011 and 2016).
