Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton believes Sam Allardyce would be a good match for England, with the Sunderland boss on the verge of being announced as Three Lions manager.
Allardyce is set to be confirmed as England boss by the Football Association and Heaton insists the former West Ham and Bolton manager will bring a wealth of success with him to the post.
Heaton was part of the England squad that bowed out of Euro 2016 at the last-16 stage, but believes Allardyce's track record makes him an ideal replacement for Roy Hodgson.
"I think you look at his background, certainly since I've been involved in football and he's been massively successful," said Heaton.
"You look at the clubs he's been at, he's done fantastic jobs wherever he's been. From my experience with the FA they tend to try and go about things the right way."
A three-man FA recruitment team including FA chief executive Martin Glenn, technical director Dan Ashworth and vice-chairman David Gill have led the search for new England boss.
FA chairman Greg Dyke confirmed the selection committee were confident Allardyce was the right man for the job, and Heaton says he has complete faith in the decision-making process of the governing body.
"I'm sure they've looked at every option and if he's the stand-out candidate, the one they want, then I'm sure there are a lot of good reasons as to why that is the case," he added.
"It's a good match. A new manager comes in, we start afresh and see what happens. That's the only thing that can happen."
