Nashik: Medical aspirants breathed a sign of relief after the first selection list for the health science courses (government/corporation medical and dental) was finally published on the website of the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) on Wednesday.
Candidates who have been given seats in the college of their choice have been asked to complete the joining formalities by July 29.

"The Bombay high court passed a detailed judgment on July 19 whereby the policy decision of the state for grant of additional weightage in CET marks was struck down. Accordingly, additional marks were deducted and the revised merit list was prepared," states a notification issued by the DMER on July 20.
The high court, on Tuesday, directed the DMER and the MH CET cell to deduct the additional marks given in MH-CET to the candidates in sports, NCC, Hyderabad-Goa liberation movement participants and freedom fighters. A total of 919 candidates had received 2 to 8 additional marks as additional weightage, which were deducted following court order.
"All the candidates whose additional marks have been deducted as per the court order have been allotted the new State Merit List (SML) number in decimal. All such candidates should now ignore their previous SML number. As per the revised merit, medical/dental selection list is declared," states the new notification. The selection list for health science courses other than medical and dental (BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, and nursing) courses will be declared in due course of time.
