Mangaluru: Thursdays of every month will see the DK district administration hold jana samparka sabhas in one taluk each week. While the sabha will be held in Mangaluru taluk on the first Thursday, it will be in Bantwal on the second Thursday. In the third week, the meeting will be held in the morning in Puttur and Sullia in the afternoon, and in Belthangady taluk on the fourth Thursday.

The meeting will be held in the respective meeting halls of the taluk panchayats, DC A B Ibrahim said, adding that all taluk-level officials must participate in the meeting without fail.
The meetings are being held with a view to pep up the administration to its optimal levels, give people information about various government schemes, and listen to grievances that people may have and take steps to resolve the same during the meetings, Ibrahim said.
The respective tahsildars and executive officers of taluk panchayats will be responsible to conduct the jana samparka sabhas, he said. A separate counter must be set up at the taluk offices five days prior to sabhas and petitions received from people, he said. Officials should attend the meeting with solutions/answers to queries raised in the petitions, he said. An on-the-spot counter to accept petitions at the venue of the meet should be arranged.
Authorities concerned must take steps to give wide publicity to the jana samparka sabhas at the gram panchayat offices. Officials must take steps to redress applications received from people on the spot and if this is not possible, take all steps possible to redress the same before the next jana samparka sabha meet, Ibrahim said, adding that a detailed circular containing guidelines has been sent to the tahshildars and EOs respectively.
