CCTV grab, posters end ordeal as lost puppy reunites with family

Chennai:Five days after their Shih Tzu pup Teddy went missing, Sundar Raman and his wife Reema wept tears of joy after being reunited with it on WednesdayWhen Sundar opened his car door, the eight-month-old pup jumped straight into the front seat like it does every morning when taken out for a driveAfter Teddy disappeared from their house on Cenotaph Road on Friday, Sundar and Reema had set off on a frantic search.
They put out advertisements in the newspapers and distributed 40,000 leaflets in the neighbourhood and surrounding areas. They even managed to get CCTV footage of a man carrying away the pup.

Sundar made an appeal on social media, which drew the attention of actor Trisha Krishnan, who tweeted to her fans to look out for Teddy. “All the wonderful people out there please start sharing and lets find this dog. The family is desperate and grieving,” her tweet saidThe thief had abandoned Teddy on Friday near the Nandanam YMCA graveyard where Karthik, a painter and pizza delivery boy, found it and took it home. On Tuesday night, so meone told him about the posters of the missing dog and he called up Sundar.“I asked Sundar for the name of the dog. When I called Teddy, it came running to me and I was convinced it was indeed his pup,” said Karthik who asked Sundar to come to the Nandanam YMCA on Wednesday and handed over the pet. Karthik said that his two daughters looked after Teddy for the past four days, giving it a bath and pet food. “My daughters have got attached to Teddy and are now crying at home,” he said.Sundar promised Karthik that he could drop in anytime with his daughters and spend time with Teddy.
