BJD Umerkote president held for abetment to murder

Koraput: Police on Wednesday arrested the BJD's Umerkote block president Debsingh Majhi in Nabarangpur district for his alleged involvement in the murder of two villagers of Baunsobeda under Umerkote police limits on July 16.
"Majhi has been arrested on charges of instigating some villagers to attack the another group. The group clash had taken an ugly shape with two personsbeing killed on the spot and one being critically injured," said SDPO (Umerkote) Gopinath Manipatro.He added five persons have been arrested in this connection.
Sources said the accused was also the block representative of Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi. Repeated attempts to contact the MP failed. It may be recalled here that two groups of villagers of Baunsobeda had clashed over a patch of forest land. tnn
