LARKANA: The water levels have receded at Guddu, Sukkur, Larkana, Kotri and other locations and there is no further deluge pressure on the embankments of Indus River, said irrigation authorities. Meanwhile, Met Office warned a new spell of rain/thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls, which is expected at a number of places and the irrigation authorities and other staff disappeared at various locations due to decrease in water levels. Despite presence of irrigation officials at sensitive locations and the dykes of Indus River, situation at upper level of water at Sukkur Barrage exceeded to 2,38,000 cusecs. Sources said that the authorities had released 183,000 cusecs of water at some barrages, as a result of which, the water level has escalated over 100,000 cusecs. The water turned its direction towards small canals due to severe rise in Sindh River a few days back and now district administrations and irrigation authorities are taking rest and enjoying, sources disclosed.
