IT ALL seemed so certain for Zig Zag as full time approached but the local team let go of a two goal lead to draw with Bathurst St Pat’s on the weekend, 3-3.
Two goals for St Pat’s in the last five minutes saved Bathurst, squaring up an important match between the two rivals.
Ziggies looked set for victory but Bathurst’s Brent Naylor and Justin Mellor came in at the eleventh hour for the visiting team.
Zig Zag were leading 1-nil at half-time and after a warning shot from Bathurst’s Tobbie Muldoon they found their extra two goals.
The second goal for Zig Zag was easy enough and the third was a walk through Bathurst’s momentary lapse in defense which they unfortunately patched up.
Lachi Sharp, once again proving why he’s representing Australia later this year, showcased some impressive sleight of hand for his team.

Zig Zag and Dubbo Blue Jays fought their whole way through the latest round of the premier league and come out with a draw, 2-2.
Zig Zag are on a road to redemption.
The team is on a road to redemption after a big loss against Panthers a few weeks back and their win against Orange last week has put some wind back in their sails.
But Dubbo were out to prove themselves as well and in the end both teams walked away square with the same amount of goals between them.
Sam Hill and Katie Wilkins were Zig Zag’s goal scorers for the game and their efforts held back an emboldened Blue Jays who obviously had something to prove.
Hill put in a effort honed only through practice and consistent effort, showing the rest of her team what dedication can do.
Meanwhile Wilkins proved her worth and showed Blue Jays she’s a force to be reckoned with.
Dubbo’s goals were put past the post by Emily Lake and Holly Jones.
Though no team came away with a win, Ziggies fought hard to make sure Blue Jays stayed put at the bottom of the ladder.
Zig Zag will take on Ex Services at Lithgow Hockey Complex next weekend.
It appears Ziggies are picking up steam and may not be ready to bow out of the 2016 competition just yet.
