Wigan forward Taulima Tautai will be free to play in the Challenge Cup semi-final after his two-match suspension was halved on appeal.

The former Wakefield man was suspended by the Rugby Football League's disciplinary tribunal on Tuesday for making dangerous contact on Leeds prop Adam Cuthbertson in Wigan's 18-16 Super League defeat at Leeds last Friday.

Tautai, who denied the charge, was again found guilty of the grade B offence on Wednesday evening, but the appeal tribunal decided it warranted just a one-match ban.

That means he will sit out Friday's league game against St Helens but can return for the semi-final against Hull at Doncaster a week later (29 July).

Wigan winger Josh Charnley appealed against the severity of his two-match ban for making deliberate physical contact with referee Robert Hicks in the game at Headingley.

However, his appeal was dismissed, and he will miss both the St Helens and Hull games.
