Pre-Amethi era cases to stay in dists

In a major relief to thousands of lawyers and litigants, the high court said that cases which were pending prior to the creation of Amethi, in Sultanpur or Rae Bareli, would be heard in the same districts that they were filed in and are pending.

Lucknow: In a major relief to thousands of lawyers and litigants, the high court said that cases which were pending prior to the creation of Amethi, in Sultanpur or Rae Bareli, would be heard in the same districts that they were filed in and are pending.
The court added that this was mentioned in a government notification of July 4, 2013.
The order came from a bench of Justice SN Shukla and Justice Anant Kumar on the petition of Sultanpur lawyer Arwind Kumar Singh alias Raja.
His counsel SK Singh argued that eight new courts were being created in Gauriganj and the petitioner apprehended that cases pending in Sultanpur or Rae Bareli would be transferred to Gauriganj.tnn
Lucknow: The High Court has restrained the state government from allocating funds to a NGO- Mahila Samakhya- for implementing center's ambitious scheme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. The court issued notice to the NGO and directed the state and the NGO to file detailed response till July 28. The order came from a bench of justice S N Shukla and justice Anant Kumar on the petition moved by Saiyyed Mansoor Mishal Zaidi. The petitioner's counsel B K Singh pleaded that the scheme is initially for 17 districts and as per notification the funds could not be allotted to the NGO. Besides it, the NGO did not work and misappropriated Rs 4 crore. The matter came to light when the districts magistrates refused to issue utility certificate to the NGO.
