A woman in East Champaran district committed suicide along with her three daughters following a tiff with her husband on Tuesday. The incident took place at Bahuara Harivansh village under Kalyanpur police station in East Champaran district.

Patna: A woman in East Champaran district committed suicide along with her three daughters following a tiff with her husband on Tuesday. The incident took place at Bahuara Harivansh village under Kalyanpur police station in East Champaran district. The deceased have been identified as Prerna Devi (35) and her daughters Amrita Kumari (20), Guddi Kumari (18) and Guddan Kumari (14).
Kalyanpur police station SHO Sanjay Swaroop said Prerna along with her three daughters consumed poison on Tuesday night. “Guddi and Guddan died at home around 9pm, while Amrita and their mother Prerna were rushed to the primary health care in Kalyanpur where Armita also died after an hour,” said the SHO.
Prerna was later rushed to sadar hospital where doctors failed to save her and she also died after midnight.
“Prerna had a had a tiff with her husband Raghvendra Ojha (42) on Monday on some family issue after which Raghvendra left home and has not yet returned,” said the SHO on Wednesday and added no written complaint has been received from the family.
He said Raghvendra, who is a tutor owns a house and agricultural land. Prerna and Raghvendra have a son who studies in Kota. He will be reaching in a day or two. “The bodies have been handed over to the family members after the post mortem,” said the SHO and added that no suicide note has been recovered from the spot by police.
