Embarrassment for Owaisi as kin of arrested Hyderabadi youths reject Legal aid offer

Hyderabad: In a big blow to Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi, the families of two of the seven alleged operatives of the IS have rejected his offer providing legal aid to fight court battle.

The family members of Ibrahim Yazdani and Ilyas Yazdani moved a petition in the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) seeking Rs 1-crore compensation.

They also slammed political parties including AIMIM for playing vote bank politics over the issue, reported Times of India.

“Each and every party across the country, including MIM of Hyderabad, are taking undue advantage of this false case of NIA, playing vote bank politics, polarising the votes in the name of religion, brutally hurting the feelings of Muslims living in the country,” Yazdanis’ family members Nadera and Mohammed Ishaq Yazdani said in the petition.

In their petition, Yazdanis’ family members Nadera and Mohammed Ishaq Yazdani also made NIA, Ministry of Home Affairs, Telangana DGP, Principal Secretary (Home) Telangana Government as parties responsible for framing their kith in false cases and for violating various sections of human rights.

Asaduddin Owaisi had said that his party would provide legal aid to fight court battle  for the youths arrested by the NIA on charges of involvement in an alleged ISIS terror module, but asserted his party does not support terrorism.
