North Bengal has been witnessing heavy rainfall over the past few days. It has triggered landslides in various areas, and large parts of National Highway-10 connecting Siliguri with Gangtok have been cut off.

Landslides have also crippled movement on the Siliguri-Kalimpong road due to which road link to Sikkim via Kalimpong is shut. The Darjeeling district administration is working on a war footing to repair the road.
