6,000 vacant posts will be filled up in police department: DGP

Eluru, Jul 20 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Director General police J V Ramudu today said over 6,000 vacant posts in the police department would be filled up after dealing with the problem of local status.
Inaugurating a petrol filling station here, the DGP said after bifurcation of the state, local status stood as a hurdle for the filling up vacant posts. However, the local status obstacle would be overcome and recruitments would be taken up. He made it clear that the five kilometer marathon for the recruitment of constables would not be implemented this time.
The police department had inducted latest technology and using it to deal with the problem of short of manpower. Andhra Pradesh stood top in issuing passports in a shortest period, he added.
