A drunk man in Mumbai opens gun fire

Mumbai: Ravindra Nalawade, a 39 year old man created a scene at a restaurant in Yeoor Hills, Mumbai after he showed up drunk and fired a round from his licensed revolver. The hotel management and staff were afraid to confront the accused directly and informed Vartak Nagar police station.

After consuming alcohol till late night, Nalawade removed his revolver and started pointing at other patrons. The accused is a resident of D’souza Wadi in Wagle Estate of Thane. Vartak Nagar police officer said “We were informed by a passersby about the incident and rushed to the spot only to find that the hotel staff was afraid to confront him. We searched the accused and found a revolver on him along with four live bullets. Our priority was to take away the revolver safely so that no one was harmed as he had already fired a round of bullet. He was so drunk that he was not even able to walk and we wanted to avoid any mishap.”

Police registered a case under Section 336 (Act endangering life or personal safety of other) of the Indian Penal Code and other relevant sections of the Arms Act.
