According to News Corp the alleged incident occurred three months ago.

“There didn’t appear to be any reason for any fight,” a source inside the prison told News Corp.

Campbell MacCallum, Patea’s lawyers confirmed to News Corp that the ex-bikie has indeed been charged with causing grievous bodily harm following an altercation with another prisoner on April 2.

He is expected to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 1st on the assault charge.

MacCallum confirmed that Patea was currently in forced protective custody.

“He has been put into protection against his wishes, since he was arrested, but he is agitating to be put into the mainstream prison,” Mr MacCallum said.

“He has made a few friends in prison and is following instructions comfortably but he is really pushing (to be with the other inmates) because he didn’t ask to be put into protection.”

Patea has been in Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre after being charged with the brutal murder of Brown last September.

According to police Patea first rammed her car, forcing her off the road, after she had dropped her three-year-old child off at childcare.

Police allege Patea beat Brown death with a cast-iron water hydrant cover while she was trapped inside the vehicle wreckage.
