Reaching Varanasi with Bollywood actors Jaya Prada and Dimple Kapadia on the occasion of Guru Purnima on Tuesday, Singh and PWD minister Shivpal Yadav kept PM and Bachchan on target.
Making it clear that Bachchan was still his friend Singh said, "I am asking him to stop endorsing commercial products because Modi and union government has given him a big responsibility to mobilise people under clean India campaign."
During a brief chat with reporters at Gadhwaghat Ashram, Amar Singh took a jibe at Modi for launching clean India campaign from Assi ghat in Varanasi in 2014.
Singh claimed that the campaign was launched by Modi but it is SP government, which is ensuring proper sanitation and civic arrangements in the city.
Shivpal also attacked Modi on the issue of Ganga and alleged that even after two-and-a-half-year of formation of his government, Modi could do nothing to change the fate of Ganga while SP government floated many projects to improve the condition of tributaries of river Ganga. Shivpal said if the roads had been damaged due to compromising quality of material, he would ensure investigation and initiate stern action against the officials responsible for it.
Earlier, they all reached Gadhwaghat Ashram in morning where they sought blessings of Swami Sadguru Sharnanand. Later, they visited Sankat Mochan and Kashi Vishwanath temples to offer prayers.
