Camps to hear pension related complaints.
Jaipur: Chief secretary O P Meena on Tuesday ordered panchayat samiti headquarters in all 33 districts to hold camps from July 25 to August 5 to address public grievances related to social security pension and other schemes of the social justice and empowerment department. Camps will also spread awareness on Bhamashah yojna and schemes related to that.
"Complete list of pensioners from panchayat and villages along with the list of names cancelled will be made available during the camps. Any beneficiary having objections can register his/her complaints and can get their eligibility validated," said Ravi Jain, director, social justice and empowerment department.
A letter has also been written to the district collectors in which they have been asked to focus mainly on the names that were deleted because beneficiaries are dead, have duplicate entries or omitted because of unknown reasons. There are about 6 lakh entries which fall in these three categories.
"All these names that have been cancelled will be reviewed once again by a joint team of gram sevaks at panchayat samiti, patwaris and ward panch. They will read out the reasons for the cancellation of names. A certificate will have to be issued by them stating that all cases have been vetted in villages and no cancellation has been done for wrong reasons," added Jain.
Collectors have also been asked to restart pensions of beneficiaries erroneously cancelled from the back date. They will also have to fix accountability of the officials for showing negligence in implementing pension schemes and take action against them in five days.
