Hyderabad: Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) occupied the administrative block at the University of Hyderabad on Tuesday seeking justice for G Kaisalam, a student whose left leg was fractured in a scuffle among students on July 16.
The ABVP members demanded that the varsity chief medical officer visit the injured student and submit a report.
Based on the report, the university must meet his health expenses and treat him at the health centre, they said.
Meanwhile, the Joint Action Committee for Social Justice submitted a representation to the university demanding the removal of Alok Pandey as chief proctor. While the scuffle between ABVP and the other students over the Kashmir row will now be looked upon by the proctorial board, the JAC expressed distrust if the board is headed by Pandey.
"We are sure this opportunity will be used by ABVP, administration and outside political forces to repeat the earlier instance and target Mr Amol Singh (student allegedly injured by ABVP members ). We demand the removal of Prof Alok Pandey as chief proctor to ensure an impartial enquiry," reads the representation.
