School refutes charge

July 20, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - COIMBATORE:

Victory Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School has said that its student Boopathi Pandi, whose parents had complained to the district administration during Monday’s grievances redress meeting on July 18, was injured while playing.

In a statement, the school committee said that after a teacher found the boy injured, the school provided him first aid and also took him to a hospital. But the boy’s father K. Chandran was not ready to listen to the teachers’ explanation.

He instead created a ruckus in the school, abused a few staff and threatened a few others. The child was not attending classes as the school had told the mother that the father should apologise for his behaviour.

This being the case, it was quite unfortunate that he had chosen to blame the school for his son’s injuries, the school said and sought action against the parent.
