Political parties condemn rape and murder

Nashik: Various political parties including Congress, Nationalist Congress Party and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena on Monday presented a memorandum to the district collector, Nashik, condemning the rape and brutal killing of a minor girl in Kopardi village of Karjat taluka, Ahmednagar district. The memorandum demands strictest of action against the accused, who were arrested swiftly by the police, and measures to prevent such incidents in the future.The parties have also appealed to the people to join a rally being organised on Tuesday at the collectorate to draw the attention of the state government towards such horrific incidents and demand better laws and their implementation. tnn
