C-DIT union seeks Vigilance probe

July 19, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 09:17 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

The C-DIT Employees Association has urged the government to order a Vigilance inquiry into the allegations of corruption and backdoor appointments in the Centre for Development of Imaging Technology (C-DIT) during the last five years.

A press note issued by the association said the construction of a building for C-DIT had failed to take off despite allocation of funds by the previous LDF government. It alleged that leaders of a rival trade union had amassed wealth through irregular appointments to various posts.

The association also alleged that key projects like hologram labelling, office automation and visual communication had been handed over to private companies, causing huge loss to C-DIT.
