: Director-General of Police J.V. Ramudu here on Monday laid the foundation for a base camp of the elite anti-terror force — Organisation for Counter Terrorist Operations (Octopus).

Addressing the media, Mr. Ramudu said the intention behind setting up the base camp was to protect the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara. The proposal had been hanging fire for the past five to six years and the base should become a reality in six months. He thanked the TTD management, especially its Executive Officer D. Sambsaiva Rao, for taking up the initiatives. All major concerns in regard to the security of the hill temple would be addressed once the base camp of the high-profile unit is completed.
