Pune: Ducati India Pvt Limited will start the delivery of its superbike Panigale 959 from August. Dubbed the entry-level sports bike, the Panigale is priced at Rs 13.69 lakh (ex-showroom Pune).
"We will start selling the 959 from August. We have received tremendous response in the market for this entry-level sports bike," said Ravi Avalur, managing director, Ducati India Pvt Ltd.
He, however, did not reveal how many bookings has the company received till now.
When asked about the future roadmap, Avalur said he hoped that the company will be launching the next generation Diavel and Multistrada Enduro in the course of this year. "Ultimately, our aim is to bring majority of the Ducati bikes that are available in the global market to India," he said.
Avalur said that Ducati is focusing on ramping up the dealer network in India and delivering "top quality" service to customers. Currently, it has five dealerships in India and the company will add two more by the end of 2016.
The big bike market, Avalur said, in India is at about 6,000 units a year. "This is growing at a rate of 30-40% due to favourable base effect and is expected to touch 8,000 to 10,000 units by end 2016," he added.
