Celebration of french national day in the city

Celebration of french national day in the city
The consulate of France celebrated their National Day at a city five star hotel recently. The news of the attack at Nice had still not made it to the headlines, and the mood was that of celebration and joy. A number of the city’s French residents attended the event along with a host of celebrities and other dignitaries. The Consul General of France in Kolkata, Damien Syed, flagged off the event with an inaugural speech.
Atri Bhattacharya, principal secretary of the information and cultural affairs department of West Bengal and his wife, Mousumi, were the chief guests for the night.

Syed, who played the perfect host and interacted jovially with the guests, told us, “We are obliged to have our friends from different walks of life here during the celebration. India and France have always shared a peaceful and friendly relationship. We wish to take it even further.”
We spotted actress Koneenica Banerjee, who shone in a tangerine dress, interacting with other guests and relishing the delicious spread. “I’m glad to be a part of the celebrations. The food here looks great and I’m looking forward to interacting with the consul generals of various embassies,” she said. We also spotted Suvaprassanna with his wife, Parambrata Chatterjee and Nayantara Palchoudhuri interacting with each other. “The ambience is great and the food is awesome,” smiled Than Htwe, Consul General of Myanmar.
