Saurashtra Cricket Association stadium to host its first Test match in November

The joy was palpable on faces of officials of Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) as its stadium at Khandheri on Jamnagar Road on outskirts of Rajkot city will host first Test match between India and England in November after BCCI recognised SCA stadiumas Test Centre.

RAJKOT: The joy was palpable on faces of officials of Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) as its stadium at Khandheri on Jamnagar Road on outskirts of Rajkot city will host first Test match between India and England in November after BCCI recognised SCA stadiumas Test Centre.
Earlier, SCA had welcomed the BCCI's decision to consider its stadium as an international Test match centre.

SCA honorary secretary Niranjan Shah, who is also chairman of National Cricket Academy, says that it is another feather in the cap of SCA. The SCA stadium is well-equipped for hosting Test matches''.
SCA stadium hosted IPL matches as well ODI matches as well. Last year, SCA had successfully hosted the third ODI between India and South Africa amid Patel quota leaders' threat to stage protest during the match to raise their demand for reservation in education and government job.
BCCI has announced schedule and venue of England team's India tour of five test match series. SCA's stadium will host the first of the five test match series which begins from November 9.
