Taking bribe: Patwari arrested red-handed

CHAKWAL: A patwari (revenue officer) was arrested redhanded while taking bribe here on Saturday, police said. According to police, Tasawar Abbas, a resident of Amirpur Mangan, had complained to the Anti-Corruption Department that the revenue official was demanding bribe for making correction to the documents of the transfer of land. The anti-corruption department officials in the supervision of civil judge Hammad Aslam Cheema raided the office of Patwari Sajid Hameed and caught him red handed while taking Rs10,000 as bribe from the complainant. The officials confiscated the amount and filed a case against Hameed.
