Man injured as school bus collides with car
Ludhiana: Three students of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, had a narrow escape on Saturday when their school bus rammed a car at GT Road on Saturday morning.
According to sources, school bus were going from from Eldeco estate towards Jalandhar Bypass after picking up Aryan Sagar and Krishita Tandon of Class III and Shivansh Singh Manhas of Class IX when the accident took place.
While, the students and bus driver were safe, the car owner received some injuries. He was taken to a hospital by passers by.
After receiving information the police reached the spot and parents of the students were also informed.
Nidhi Sagar, mother of Aryan, told TOI, "I got a call that my son's school bus had met with an accident. Thereafter I immediately rushed to the spot and picked up all three children."
ASI Paramjeet Singh, inquiry officer from Salem Tabri police station, said, "The school bus was coming from the wrong side and hit a car. Before I reached the spot, passers by had already taken the injured car driver to a hospital." He added that so far no complaint had been filed in the case.
District transport officer Dalwinderjit Singh said, "Police will do the needful in the case. Besides, we would also take action against school vahan scheme after conducting inquiry."
School principal Paramjit Kaur said, "According to my information, the car was coming from the wrong side. If bus driver is found guilty, then we will ask parents to replace the driver. That is a private bus, so we cannot do anything directly."
