Minor rapes seven-yr-old

Kullu, July 16

A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a minor in the Sainj valley of Kullu district. The police said the accused was a relative of the victim and he allegedly lured her into his accommodation on July 10 and committed the crime.

The police added that the victim complained of pain in the stomach and she was brought to a Kullu hospital, after which the police were informed yesterday.

Kullu Superintendent of Police Padam Chand said a medical examination of the victim had been conducted and the report was awaited.

He said a case under Section 376 of the IPC and Section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act had been registered against the accused.

He stated that the accused was kept in the custody of his guardians and would be produced in a juvenile court. — OC
