Now, AAP complains against CM

Hoshiarpur: Having faced criminal complaints of hurting religious sentiments, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has now filed a similar complaint in a Hoshiarpur court against chief minister Parkash Singh Badal.
The party has claimed that on the bicycles given to girls as part of the state government's Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme, pictures of Badal were put on the front, but the name of Sikh warrior Mai Bhago, under whose name the scheme was run, was put on the chain cover near the pedals.
AAP's media in-charge of Chabbewal, Dr Kulwant Singh, filed the complaint under Section 295-A of the IPC in the court of judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) Prabhjot Kaur on Friday. The matter has been posted for hearing on August 5.
The complaint said Mai Bhago's name, who is a respected figure for Sikh community, was written at a place on the bicycles where it would be touched by shoes several times. The complainant said that disrespect to the Sikh warrior hurt not only his sentiments, but of the entire Sikh community.
On July 8, AAP submitted a complaint to Hoshiarpur senior superintendent of police (SSP) against chief minister Parkash Singh Badal for hurting religious sentiments on the issue that Hindu deity Mata Chintpurni's photo was pasted below the footrest of a Pepus Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) bus which was being run for pilgrimages to Hindu shrines. "If police don't act, we will file a criminal complaint in the court against the CM," said AAP national council member Naveen Jerath, who is also the counsel in the complaint filed on Friday.
Meanwhile, AAP members told TOI that they would pay back in the same coin when the manifesto fiasco was being stretched too much and people were being provoked despite the party leaders apologizing for it. "There would be numerous instances where ruling party leaders can be put in the dock on similar grounds," said an AAP leader.
