R. Aushik Srinivas took five for 66 to help Grand Slam restrict Alwarpet to 259 for nine on day one of the third round Group-A match of the TNCA first division league at IIT-Chemplast on Saturday. M. Kamalesh top-scored with 71 (164b, 11x4) for Alwarpet.

B. Aparajith scored 78 (151b, 7x4, 1x6), and R. Prasanna, an unbeaten 68 (156b, 6x4, 1x6), as Vijay CC ended the day on 302 for four against Young Stars at the SSN ground.

Chiranjeevi, Saurabh shine

G. Chiranjeevi (83, 223b, 5x4) and Saurabh Kumar (73, 98b, 7x4) added 114 for the seventh wicket as Triplicane Sports Club reached 240 for eight against IOB at VB Nest.

In the Group-B game at CPT-IP, openers G.V. Vignesh (138 batting, 274b, 13x4) and Jiwanjot Singh (150, 183b, 21x4) added 248 as India Pistons scored 329 for four against Jolly Rovers.

The 111-run second-wicket partnership between R. Kavin (80, 130b, 12x4, 1x6) and Wilkins Victor (52, 62b, 8x4) helped CromBest reach 309 for eight against Globe Trotters at the Pachaiyappa’s ground.

At Guru Nanak, R. Sathyanarayan’s unbeaten 61 (151b, 9x4) took UFCC (T. Nagar) to 257 for six versus AG’s Office.
