If you allow the army to make a crime against Kurdistan , one day that army will act against you, said Karo Pailan, an MP of the Peoples' Democratic Party (Turkey) , in an exclusive interview with NEWS.am, referring to the coup attempt, that took place yesterday late in the evening in Turkey.
"Turkey has never been a democratic state. There took place several similar coups, and the reason is that there is no democracy in that country . After last year's elections, Erdogan carried out a so -called parliamentary revolution, by establishing a parliament and forming a government with the use of violence. If you give a power to the army to make a crime against Kurdistan , one day those weapons will turn against you. That is what happed last night. The army used the weapons against the government, against the authorities , "said Karo Pailan.
Karo Pailan, who is by origin Armenian, believes that all the parliament MPs should unite and fight together to restore democracy in the country. Moreover, Pailan is confident that there is no democracy in Turkey. According to him, the fact that there took place coup attempts in the country also proves that.
"Those who are trying to make a revolution, they are far from democracy, they want have a power. The same refers to Erdogan and his supporters. Political parties should unite and fight together to establish democracy in the country , " he said.
