Varun Dhawan keen to move on from 'clean-shaven, chikna image'

Varun Dhawan says like Badlapur, he has more to offer, apart from college romances.

Varun Dhawan is keen to move on from his image of this kid who does college romances to a man with a dark shade to it. He's more keen than ever to prove himself as an actor. "I'm still the clean-shaven chikna who is doing college romances. But I have different facets to my personality, all of them thoroughly entertaining. I hope someone taps them all," said the 29-year old actor.

When asked how the experience of working with his brother was, the Dilwale actor said, "He told me he didn't want to see 'Varun Dhawan' on his set because he saw him every day at home. He wanted the rookie cop. His brief was clear and he pushed me to deliver my 100 per cent."

When asked how he prepared for the role, the actor said he trained with an Arabic tutor, studied Islam in depth, basically channelise the boy's journey to a man. He also said that since he was being directed by his own brother, he ceased to become a brother for 40 days of the film, and became an actor.

Dishoom follows the story of two cops trying to track down an Indian batsman, abducted just before a crucial Indo-Pak match. The film also stars John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez and Akshaye Khanna in significant roles. Dishoom is slated to release on July 29.
