Friends of Tokai University student Riku Ono offer a prayer on July 16, 2016 in front of the ruins of the apartment building in the Kurokawa district of Minamiaso, Kumamoto Prefecture, where the 20-year-old was killed in the April 16 main shock of the Kumamoto Earthquake. Three months have passed since the main temblor struck the prefecture, but many structures that collapsed remain much as they were right after the disaster, and many of the residents are taking shelter elsewhere.
