Drug found hidden behind foam of purses carried by a passenger at airport leads to raid

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), South Zone, busted a drug-smuggling gang and seized 20 kg of ketamine, estimated at Rs. 4 crore in illegal market, from a passenger at the Chennai airport and the house of the main dealer in Royapettah, respectively.

The NCB sleuths found 100 kg of red sanders in the house.

The contraband was concealed behind the foam of purses and the smugglers were posing as businessmen supplying bags and purses, said an NCB officer.

]The breakthrough came when the bureau received information that a passenger was trying to smuggle ketamine from the Chennai airport on Thursday.
