Guess what?: Andrea reopens museum

J

AKARTA: Having closed it for two months for renovations, writer Andrea Hirata has reopened his Museum Kata in his hometown in Belitung in time for the school holidays.

The renovations resulted in additional space devoted to Indonesian literature and Malay ornaments.

“We also added more than 200 works from all over the globe, including works by Emily Bronte and Maya Angelou. They are both given special space in the museum,” Andrea said as quoted by kompas.com.

“Hopefully, we can see more creative works from Indonesian youths as gifts for booklovers.”

Andrea is also set to fly to a book event in Tahiti, as well as promoting a French edition of his best-selling book Laskar Pelangi (Rainbow Warriors), published by Mercure de France. — JP
