Canada-based Garibaldi Resources has mobilised crews to carry out work programmes at its wholly owned King Project in British Columbia's Golden Triangle.

The two claims of King North and Garibaldi’s recently acquired King South total 50km² and adjoin Seabridge Gold's Iskut Project.

They also cover several gold, silver and base metal prospects that were discovered in 1980 near the Snip mine.

At present, King North is permitted for drilling and Garibaldi’s focus for this month will be on prioritising drill targets there.

"Garibaldi controls more than 150km² in the core region of the Golden Triangle."

The initial area of interest will be Chubby Creek where structurally controlled high-grade gold mineralisation was identified through sampling along NE trending pyritic shear zones cutting volcanics and sediments.

In 2011, the BC Geological Survey performed geological studies and concluded that the under-explored rock units extending north from the Iskut River, encompassing the King Project, are similar to those hosting the Snip, Eskay Creek as well as KSM deposits.

Recent extensions of the Iskut River access road, completion of a bridge to the north side of the river, and building Forrest Kerr and McLymont power stations by AltaGas are expected to minimise the project's exploration costs.
