Where can I get new linings for old bags, and Pippa Middleton’s ’60s-style Wimbledon dress?

Four Hong Kong repairers for vintage couture bags, online stockists for Tabitha Webb dresses like Middleton wore, and others like it – some cheaper

I have two Gucci bags I bought in the 1990s and a Chanel bag of similar vintage. The exteriors are holding up well but the linings are disintegrating. Granted, they were unused for 12 years. Is there anywhere that replaces designer linings?
In the Bag, Mid-Levels

The Dictator rules:Wow, do we live in a spoiled society! At least you’re reusing products rather than contributing to our overflowing landfills. First, check what repairs the brand can offer. Most local providers charge HK$1,000 to HK$2,000 a bag and take about four weeks, but many insist on seeing the bags before giving a quote. Material, stitching, number of internal pockets and overall design affect the price and delivery time. The Leather Doctors charge about HK$1,000 to replace a fabric lining and HK$1,500 for leather, including free pick-up and delivery . Unlike most repairers, Leather Reborn will quote from photos sent via WhatsApp (tel: 6901 5757). It will restore bag linings in one to two months and charge from HK$1,000. Clean Master repairs zips, handles, metal hardware, bound seams, edge painting and linings (about HK$1,000 in four weeks; pick up and delivery available). Fresh Reform/TRG Wecare has a few retail locations across Hong Kong, and charges HK$2,000 or less for the work, which will take about one month. Now, what do you do with your plastic bottles?

I loved the orange and blue 1960s dress Pippa Middleton wore at Wimbledon. Where can I find something similar for an upcoming wedding? I assume it sold out immediately.
Fashion Ace, Central

The Dictator: Ace? More like double fault. One, the dress was not from the 1960s. Two, it did not sell out because it was never mass produced. The Edie dress is by Tabitha Webb, a British designer both the Middleton sisters have favoured in the past. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a blue Tabitha Webb dress with an outer-space print to a preview of the Shaun the Sheep Movie in October. The Edie falls just above the knee, features a ’60s-inspired geometric print, three-quarter-length sleeves and can be ordered online for delivery in two weeks (HK$3,222). Game, set and match. But before we hit the Pimm’s, here are some alternatives. Going vintage is the obvious route. Online stores such as RustyZipper.com should get you there with style, not to mention major savings (from HK$217). And eBay has dresses from HK$100 (try search terms such as mod, 1960s or geometric print). There are thousands of geometric-print dresses in stores, too. Look to brands famous for prints, such as Emilio Pucci (from HK$12,000) and Diane von Furstenberg (from HK$3,600). More affordable brands with sleeveless shifts in orange geometric prints include Alyx (HK$313; jcpenney.com), Christin Michaels (HK$535; zappos.com) and Favebykennyli (HK$1,500; zalora.com). If it’s all about the shape for you, then try Rosetta Getty’s striped silk off-the-shoulder dress, which has a similar silhouette (HK$10,500, Lane Crawford).
