Nanna Ninna Prema Kathe is a simple love story

Nanna Ninna Prema Kathe is a simple love story
Nanna Ninna Prema Kathe, which hits theatres today, marks the directorial debut of Shivu Jamakhandi. Starring Vijay Raghavendra, Nidhi Subbaiah and Tilak Shekar in the lead, the film, produced by AB Creations, is set against a North Karnataka backdrop.
'NNPK does not boast an extraordinary tale; it is a simple love story, but one that audiences will relate to, as the subject is inspired by real incidents in North Karnataka,' says Shivu.
The filmmaker, who hails from the region, ensured that his entire film was shot in North Karnataka, including historical locations like the Jamakhandi Fort, Gol Gumbaz, etc., which, he says, will be a treat for audiences who are not familiar with that part of the state.
The locations and the realistic storyline apart, Shivu adds that NNPK is very North Karnataka at its core, including the folk songs and the dialect.
In the film, Vijay plays a folk artist, who falls in love with Nidhi, the sister of a rich zamindar played by Tilak. Naturally, there are several obstacles along the way, which also gives audiences a look at Vijay's mass hero avatar. 'The film has a few action sequences, most notably the one choreographed amid several truckloads of sugarcane. 'We had close to a 100 trucks loaded with sugarcane for this sequence,' says the filmmaker.
NNPK will also be a treat for Shankar Nag fans, as the late actor plays a pivotal role in the film. 'Vijay plays Shankar's son in the film, and speaks to his portrait every time he has something on his mind. Audiences will feel that Shankar is very much in the film, even though he is physically not there,' says Shivu. With songs sung by Puneeth Rajkumar, Upendra, Chikkanna and Vijay, the music and the background score are also USPs, says the director.
